Thai Successes for B&T

Important agreements have recently been reached between Barbieri & Tarozzi (Formigine, MO, Italy) and leading ceramic tile producers in Thailand.

During 2005 it is understood that the third and final phase of the Union Mosaic Industry (UMI) plant will be completely planned and realised by Barbieri & Tarozzi. When running at full capacity, this plant will produce 36,000 square metres of ceramic tile per day, divided among both basic sizes (30cm x 30cm and 40cm x 40cm) and products of larger dimensions.

Across at Sosuco Group, also based in Saraburi, a complete turnkey plant with a productive capacity of 16,000 square metres per day of single-fired floor tiles is presently in start-up phase. The B&T equipment on this site includes five VIS2000 presses, a horizontal dryer, two kilns, a storage line for the green product in boxes, complete with latest generation laser-driven vehicles, two storage lines for the fired product on the ground, two Smart Line sorting lines and two palletisers.

With this investment, the Sosuco Group will reach an overall production of 85,000 sq.m. per day destined for the local market and in part exported to the USA, Singapore and Australia.
