Directors Appointed at Superconductive Components


Superconductive Components Inc has announced that its Board of Directors has elected Gerald Blaskie to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Mike Barna to Vice President, Sales-Photonics, effective immediately.

Mr. Blaskie joined the company in April 2001 and has served as Chief Financial Officer since that time. Prior to that, he was Controller at Cable Link Inc from February 2000 to March 2001. From 1997 to 2000, he was the Plant Manager at Central Ohio Plastics Corporation, where he also served as Controller from 1993 to 1997.

In January 2004, Mike Barna joined SCI Engineered Materials as Director of Sales and Marketing to lead those efforts within the photonics market. Mike has more than 20 years of experience in thin film sales, including major account sales of Physical Vapour Deposition equipment, high purity targets and evaporation materials for these systems, hybrid microelectronic, telecommunications and the commercial glass coating markets.

Dan Rooney, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented: "Both of these individuals have made substantial contributions within their respective areas of responsibility. They have strengthened our management team and will be instrumental in the Company’s successful implementation of its long-term growth strategy. The promotions recognize their achievements as well as their importance to the Company."

SCI Engineered Materials, an operating unit of Superconductive Components, Inc, manufactures ceramics and metals for advanced applications such as thin film batteries, superconductors and advanced optical systems. The company also provides materials for thin film applications used in photovoltaics, electronic switches, hardness and decorative coatings. The company is a global materials supplier with clients in more than 40 countries.
