Royal Crown Derby Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Collectors Guild

The Royal Crown Derby collectors guild is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Loyal guild members with unbroken membership since 1994 are to receive a special limited edition gift in the shape of a Crown Namestand Paperweight.

Around 100 loyal members will be presented with their paperweight during a special event at the company's Visitor Centre.

Sales and Marketing Director Simon Willis said: "The idea of a collectors club for the brand exceeded all expectations. During the first year, membership of the Guild came free with purchase of the Deer paperweight; numbers were relatively small and the Deer demands a high price on the secondary market. Today we have almost 15,000 guild members but these time limited pieces still become highly collectable".

Since 1995, annual guild membership has included a complimentary gift and the opportunity to purchase a guild member's exclusive paperweight. New members pay 40 and renewing members pay 29.50. Membership also includes subscription to the quarterly magazine - 'Royal Crown Derby Collector' - where members learn about new and retiring products, limited editions and collectors' events.
