Ceramic Knives Cut The Mustard

With the motto of developing innovations for living, Silicone Zone (Hong Kong) has launched a new series of ceramic knives with recycled silicone-made handles and this product design has recently received the prestigious Red Dot Award: Product Design 2009. In this year's competition, there were around 1,400 companies from 49 countries who took part with a total of 3,231 entries which goes to show how sought-after the Red Dot quality label is worldwide.

Red Dot's international jury of experts awards the distinction for high design quality to Silicone Zone for the Rock-N-Hold ceramic knife set. It is believed this is the first time an international product design award has been given to silicone-made handle ceramic knives.

Rock-N-Hold Ceramic Knives are produced with the finest quality zirconia and are sharper than steel knives while maintaining the properties of being corrosion-free, rust-proof and stain-proof. Leaving no smell and no after-taste when preparing food, this set of knives is also easy to clean.

The cutting edge stays sharp for 10 times longer than traditional steel knives. The Rock-N-Hold brand of ceramic knives uniquely provides a comfortable and balanced sure-grip handle that will pamper the most demanding culinary artist, says the company. The handles are manufactured with Silicone Zone's highest standard of recycled food grade silicone rubber. This technology is another one of its self-developed recycled material technology processes.
