New Plant for Keramin in Russia

Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) has won the contract for a complete tile production plant for JSC Keramin in St Petersburg in Russia. The new line, which will provide an output capacity of 6,200 square metres per day of double fire 200mm x 300mm wall tile, consists of a spray dryer with an evaporating capacity of 5,200 litres per hour; three fully overhauled PH980 presses from another Keramin production plant; a horizontal dryer; and a biscuit kiln.

Tiles exiting the kiln will be handled by suction cup devices and stored on special racks. From here they will be sent by elevator cars to the two glazing lines (one on standby, one operative). The glazing line is connected, with the exception of an intervening roller rack, directly to the glaze kiln.

To complete the plant, Sacmi is also supplying a Master sorting system and an automatic palletiser. The plant is expected to come on stream very soon.
