Surge for Indian Ceramics

As the doors closed on the 4th Indian Ceramic Materials, Supply, Plant & Technology Show, the organisers Gattaca Communications pronounced the event a major success, pointing to its position as a key date in South Asia’s exhibition calendar. The decision to move the event from Mumbai up to Gujarat was completely vindicated, with more than twice as many visitors this year as in 2008.

Event Director Kevin Hudson said: “It was great to see so many quality visitors arrive in Ahmedabad for the exhibition, from all the important areas of ceramic manufacture in the country. We already knew that the spread of exhibits would be impressive, but in these difficult times to so comprehensively outstrip last year’s attendance figure is a sign that Indian Ceramics is firmly established as the premier event for the industry in this part of the world”.

The exhibitors at Indian Ceramics, who came from all over the world to participate and created a sold-out show, appreciated the new venue and facilities in Ahmedabad, the bustling aisles and the serious business opportunities that resulted. Everyone the organisers spoke to wants to return next year, the most solid endorsement possible for the Indian Ceramics brand, said Gattaca.

“The Indian Ceramics 2009 exhibition was an excellent showcase for our technical expertise and engineering excellence,” commented Ken Wright of Dragon&TC Kilns. “Only time will tell, but the quality of enquiry and discussion from existing customers and new prospects was very high and extremely promising.

“Attending numbers were high and the venue and facilities were excellent. We have already verbally confirmed our attendance for next year. Well done Gattaca and thanks also to Asian Ceramics Magazine who hosted a magnificent alfresco buffet dinner of local cuisine for exhibitors and guests.”

There was increasingly close cooperation with the local trade associations in all major areas, such as sanitaryware, tiles and bricks, as well as with Gujarat ’s lead business bodies such as the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Vibrant Gujarat whose representatives expressed themselves highly impressed with both exhibits and turnout at the show.

The venue and dates for Indian Ceramics 2010 will be announced shortly, said the organisers.
