Both Sides of Ceramic Industry on Show in Guangzhou - Separate Events for 2004

Union Fair Trade has confirmed that Ceramics China 2004, the 18th China International Ceramics Exhibition, will take place in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, PR China from 15-18 June 2004. It is expected to cover some 20,000 square metres of show space and to include 1,100 standard booth spaces.

With the support of European bodies such as Acimac, VDMA, Imag, ASCER and EDICERAM - as well as other international and Chinese organisations - Ceramics China has been successfully organised for many years. The exhibition is sponsored by the China Ceramics Industry Association and the organiser claims that it is becoming the largest and most effective ceramics expo in Asia. In 2003, there were 492 exhibitors occupying 1,800 standard booth spaces in a total exhibition area of 40,000 square metres.

The much larger area in 2003 reflects the integration of the CBB China show. The decision has now been taken to separate CBB China (China International Trade Fair of Ceramics for the Building Industry & Bathroom Furnishings) out as an independent event, with the result that the two shows will become more specialised.

CBB China will take place from 16-19 June 2004 and the organiser expects it to cover anything up to 60,000 square metres - equivalent to 3,500 standard booth spaces. This exhibition concentrates on the finished products from the ceramic industry, such as tiles and sanitaryware. Ceramics China 2004 will focus on the supply side of the industry, with exhibitors from the raw materials and machinery sectors.

Further information on the shows can be obtained from Cherry Lee (Ceramics China) and/or Rita Jia (CBB China) at: gzunion@pub.guangzhou.gd.cn
