Call for Applications for European Ceramic Work Centre Residency

The European Ceramic Work Centre (.ekwc) in ’s-Hertogenbosch in Holland invites visual artists, designers and architects to apply for a residency in 2007 and offers plenty of opportunities for creating new ceramic art, design and architecture.

Ceramics is a medium in which new possibilities are continually being discovered.

The .ekwc is an international workshop where international artists, designers, architects and staff members explore the artistic and technical possibilities of ceramics as a medium. Experiments are being conducted to find new ways of presenting ceramics. The acquired knowledge and experience is being spread nationally as well as internationally. The goal is to encourage the development of ceramic art, design and architecture.

The .ekwc offers participants excellent workspace and living space to enable them to work for three months either continuously or in phases. A team of specialised employees is ready to guide the participants in their work.

Applicants can register for one of the available places in 2007 up until 1 May 2006. Conditions for entry are an academic education and two years' professional work experience. A participant must also be able to get away for three months, either in a single period or in phases. All applications will be assessed by an independent committee.

The application form and guidelines for artists and designers can be found at www.ekwc.nl
