Special Debinding and Sintering Furnace Introduced

Linn High Therm GmbH (Haan, Germany) has introduced a protective gas furnace for debinding, sintering, annealing and heat treatment of hard metals and diamond tools and also CIM/MIM parts. The furnace, designated the KS-160 S, features a process controller, two- or three-zone control and gas feeding device.

The new model is based on the standard KS-S furnaces, which allow operation under protective/inert gas atmosphere up to 1100C due to their gas-tight rectangular retorts (50l-500l). Five standardised sizes are available with other dimensions upon request.

Due to the gas circulation, it is possible to take out the decomposed binders from the product during the debinding process. A homogeneous temperature distribution is achieved via three-zone heating. Linn says that high reproducibility and optimised use of chamber dimension can be achieved.

Temperature limitations for the gas circulation are solved by a changeable door without fan. In this case, the furnace can be operated under protective/inert gas up to 1100C for brazing. A variable kiln furniture configuration with up to 18 racks (trays) enables optimised furnace/chamber use and good temperature distribution and gas circulation for the treatment of small parts.
