CUMI Chooses SACMI for Continuous Grinding Plant

Carborundum Universal Limited, (CUMI) Industrial Ceramics division, part of the US$2 billion Murugappa Group, is situated in Hosur, near Bangalore, India. The company has been a pioneer in producing wide varieties of industrial ceramic products. It has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for producing advanced alumina ceramic products.

CUMI has recently expanded the wear resistance tilemaking unit with an additional 300 tons per month manufacturing capacity. For this facility CUMI has purchased a continuous ball mill and spray dryer from SACMI (Imola, BO, Italy).

SACMI and CUMI have worked together to develop the most modern continuous milling technology for advanced ceramic applications. The continuous ball mill is fully automatic, configured so that the infeed and outlet can be changed depending upon the requirement. The output of the ball mill offers a consistent particle output compared to conventional batch milling.
