Ceres Power Specifies Elite Equipment

Ceres Power Ltd has commissioned Elite Thermal Systems to provide a complete line of high specification furnaces for the development and testing of novel ceramics on metal for fuel cell applications.

Additional Elite furnaces allow for actual fuel cell testing and trialling of pilot production processes. The order, which comprises vertical split tube furnaces, custom built horizontal tube furnaces and air recirculating chamber furnaces, was won on the high specification offered.

Production requirements on the tube furnaces demanded good longitudinal uniformity and this was achieved by careful attention to heating element and insulating package design. The specially designed water cooled tube end seals supplied with the tubes and furnaces allow the materials to be processed in flammable and inert gas atmospheres.

The furnaces were equipped with multi-program storage temperature controls having digital communications facility for data logging and remote setting of parameters.
