First for Bulgarian Tilemaking

The new porcelain tile production plant being constructed for the Khan Asparuh Group (Isperuh, Bulgaria) is expected to come into operation in 12 months' time. Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) is supplying a new spray dryer capable of evaporating over 5,000 litres per hour. The line will also feature a 2,000-ton press, a vertical dryer and a high productivity roller kiln.

Sacmi has also enhanced the overall efficiency of the plant by adding a modern handling and storage system which transports the tiles by way of magnetically guided vehicles.

With this new plant, Khan Asparuh aims to reinforce its leadership of the Bulgarian ceramic tile market by augmenting its product range. The company in fact becomes the very first in Bulgaria to produce wall, floor, porcelain and third firing ceramic tiles. Sacmi's first such installation in Bulgaria is currently being assembled on site.
