Almatis Names Remco de Jong New CEO

The Supervisory Board of Almatis (DIC Almatis Equityco Coöperatief U.A.) has appointed Remco de Jong as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Almatis. He succeeds Martin Laudenbach who has decided to step down from his position to take on a new entrepreneurial opportunity.

Helmut Eschwey, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, commented: “We would like to express our gratitude to Mr Laudenbach for the strategic renewal of Almatis under his leadership”.

Remco de Jong joined Almatis in 2004 and has held various positions in Operations before he became the company’s Chief Operating Officer in 2007.

He has been a member of the executive management team at Almatis for the last four years, working closely together with Martin Laudenbach and Charles Herlinger (CFO) on the strategic agenda. Mr de Jong has been instrumental in continuously improving Almatis world-class operations.

Prior to joining Almatis, Remco de Jong worked for over 14 years at Corus where among other assignments he managed the Corus ceramics and refractories technical centre. He holds a PhD in ceramics science and technology from Rutgers University.
