Paving Way to Tile Magic's Success

An increase in customer demand for its extensive range of prestigious ceramic tiles and other products has seen UK based Tile Magic join forces with transport and logistics company Ryder PLC (Slough, Berks, England) to organise its ware transport strategy.

Under a new 60-month contract, Ryder will supply extra fleet to meet Tile Magic's increasing distribution needs, including the allocation of a Mercedes 251L curtainsider fully fitted with piggy-back mounted fork truck.

The vehicles, running from Ryder's Greenwich site in London, will deliver nearly 140 tonnes of product each week across London, Kent and the South East of England.

Tile Magic's Logistics Manager, Perry Sands, said that the new partnership with Ryder would eliminate many of the transport problems experienced by the company in the past.

"Despite being only four years old, our company is growing considerably and we now own 12 shops and make up to 40 deliveries a week. To cater for this growth and to meet our new distribution needs, we needed to move away from the use of third party hauliers and begin to control our own destiny.

"Working with Ryder will enable us to achieve these aims, bringing our transport operation under one roof and significantly benefiting our operation."
