Thailand to Host Second Ceramic Supplier/Manufacturer Meeting


The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) will organise the exhibition and technical seminar on 'Ceramic Suppliers Meet Ceramic Manufacturers 2002' from 17-19 July 2002 at Plenary Hall 1-2, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.

The objectives are to promote the exchange of information, new innovation process, updated technology, technical know-how and experiences between suppliers and manufacturers in the ceramic industry. Participants will gain knowledge and updated information on new technology on raw materials, chemicals, frits, colours, stains, forming equipment, kilns, laboratory testing and characterisation equipment, fuel, packaging and related products which are involved in ceramics processing and which can be used to increase the productivity and quality and decrease the production costs.

The first event, held in 2001, had an exhibition space of 1,500 square metres gross with a total number of 99 stands with 54 ceramic supply companies covering the whole range. In addition to Thailand, they came from Japan, Germany and the UK.

The total number of visitors in 2001 was 3,600, drawn from the ASEAN countries.
