Sacmi Machines Head for Suez Area

The Cleopatra Group, the Egyptian market's leading tile and sanitaryware producer, will shortly be inaugurating a new plant in the Suez region. This impressive facility, belonging to the group's subsidiary Cleopatra Ceramics, will have 18 production lines: that means a potential tile output capacity of 3 million square metres a month!

These new Sacmi-developed systems feature technology that is all-Italian. Numerous Sacmi manufactured machines will be heading for the Suez canal, starting with the presses: twelve PH 3800 models, four PH 5000s and two PH 1500s. Then there are the four MMC 148 mills and the same number of ATM 140 spray dryers. Last, but by no means least, come the ten FMP 2950/121.8 kilns plus an FMP 207/79.8 kiln. Fourteen sorting lines complete the order.

The Cairo-based Cleopatra Group has been in the Egyptian market since 1987 and is seen as a pioneer of tile production in the Egyptian and Middle Eastern area. The group makes various tile types – for both floor and wall – plus sanitaryware realised through the best cutting-edge technologies. The group also owns the Eldorado and Fancy ceramic plants: the latter was founded in 2004 to expand the group's business even further.

The existing Cleopatra Ceramics plants already manufacture 30 different tile sizes and supply over a multitude of differently-designed models, enriched by a wide range of third fire products. About 40% of the pieces that will be made by the new Suez plant will be for Egyptian customers, while the rest will be exported to the Cleopatra Group's main outlet markets: these include neighbouring Middle-Eastern countries, other Arab nations and far-off Japan.
