The Refractories and Building Products Training Council gains national accreditation

The Refractories and Building Products Training Council (Sheffield, England) is leading by example in its drive to encourage companies to invest in their workforce for future development.

In a bid to recognise recent growth and improvements, RBPTC, who offer training advice and guidance to the refractories, clayware and precast concrete sectors, has been awarded Investors in People (IiP) status only a year after embarking on the programme.

RBPTC’s success has been attributed to the recent introduction of more formal training and development appraisal for employees, combined with a robust business planning process and a strong commitment to modernisation and growth.

The knowledge and experience of key employees was noted as essential to the Council’s IiP success, whilst their recognition of the benefits that e-commerce can bring was also highly praised.

Gwyn Baker, RBPTC’s director, said: "The IiP assessor was very pleased with the way the Council is run. We are keen to ensure that everyone is offered an opportunity to develop their skills and that we work together, to effectively deliver our business objectives. I am delighted that we have been awarded IiP accreditation and I am very proud of everyone’s efforts".
