MonoŽ NOV Awarded ISO 14001:2004 Standard Certification

Mono® NOV, Europe’s leading designer and manufacturer of pumps, parts, grinders, screens and packaged systems, has been awarded ISO 14001 certification for its commitment to improving its ‘green’ credentials and reducing its negative impact on the environment.

Mono was awarded the certification following the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS), which has been put in place by the company to ensure compliance with its environmental legal requirements, the prevention of pollution and to deliver continuous improvement when it comes to its environmental performance.

Mono’s EMS will be audited and monitored by a UKAS certified body on an ongoing basis to ensure that it is performing efficiently and meeting specified targets and goals, in accordance with the ISO 14001 standards.

Commenting on the recent certification, Mono’s Managing Director, Paul Naylon, said: “Achieving ISO 14001 certification is an extremely positive step for Mono, which clearly demonstrates our dedication to continually improving our environmental performance.

“With the commitment of the entire company, this EMS will enable Mono to address the delicate balance between maximising productivity and reducing the impact that Mono’s activities can have on the local environment, as well as on a nationwide scale.”

In addition to its ISO 14001 certification, Mono has also been awarded the Investors in People Award (IPP), a tool designed to improve the performance of a company by developing and improving the people behind it.

“As a company we are constantly striving for improvement when it comes to both processes and people,” said Mr Naylon, “so to be recognised in both areas is a significant achievement. This IPP award acknowledges the importance that Mono puts on continuous improvement for staff throughout the business in terms of working environment, job satisfaction, communication and career development opportunities.”
