MHP Invests in New Technology for Screen Press Production

Following a six-month software development programme, Derbyshire-based Materials Handling Products Ltd (MHP) has unveiled its new CAD/CAM rubber screen press to provide customers with an enhanced service, complete flexibility and even faster response times.

The new system allows MHP's senior technicians to input site data without any prior CAD design or programming and produce finished screens in record time. Accuracy is said to be unprecedented with 0.1mm repeatability to guarantee even bridges on the smallest apertures.

The new software, which is unique to MHP, incorporates all the design parameters used manually in the past to produce the most efficient screen panel for the application. This flexibility means that modifications can easily be made to existing designs to maximise performance or wear life without significant delay.

MHP's Managing Director, Brian Mackenzie, said: “The new software incorporates existing MHP design strategy, previously handled manually. We strive for continuous improvement and are always looking at further ways to develop our products and services. The new system enables us to further improve our customer service and our breakdown response”.

To serve the new machine, MHP has acquired a second warehouse for raw materials and is carrying increased stocks of high quality corded screencloth in order to satisfy customer demand. This increase in raw materials held in stock has brought further improvements to the existing production facility and efficiency.

Brian Mackenzie added that the new system and facility had sparked a lot of interest from customers. “Demand has increased and a number of customers have asked if they can visit the new facility,” he said. “We are always happy to show people round and they can contact their local MHP engineer to arrange a visit.”
