New venture - MetaConsort

The Donside Paper Company (Aberdeen, Scotland) and Hoffman & Engelmann (Neustadt/Weinstrasse, Germany) have formed a new joint venture company to be known as MetaConsort GmbH, to be based in Neustadt/Weinstrasse.

This new venture combines the premium papermaking skills of Donside and the advanced coating facilities of Hoffmann & Engelmann. It will provide premium decal papers to ceramic, glass and cold transfer printers throughout the world.

This synergy combines 100 years of service with state-of-the-art developments in both companies and will bring a new dimension to decorating technologies and markets. The new company is committed to producing the very best range of products available. A continuous development programme has already been initiated combining the technical expertise of both companies to respond to the specific needs of decal printers.

The existing service and sales network will be optimised without changing relationships which have proved successful in the past. The company says it will meet all customer needs in the minimum of time whilst giving the maximum benefit.

Samples of new products together with promotional literature will be mailed to customers, and they will be able to meet them at Ceramitec (Munich, Germany) and the SGCD’s Deco 2000 (San Diego, CA, USA) under the new company name of MetaConsort.

The joint managing directors of MetaConsort are John Wigzoll and Peter Stephan.
