More Space Assigned to Kromatech by Tecnargilla Organisers

Rimini Fiera SpA (Rimini, Italy) - the organiser of this October's Tecnargilla 2004 exhibition - says that even more space has been allocated to Kromatech, the show-within-a-show dedicated to colour technology, creativity and trends in the ceramic industry.

First launched in 2002 to cater for companies that play an essential role in proposing aesthetic innovation, Kromatech is the largest exhibition of products, services, design and research in the ceramic sector and this year will be offering visitors an even wider selection of products.

About 100 exhibitors have booked space to date and they will occupy an area of about 20,000 square metres in three of the exhibition halls (B3-B5-D5), one more hall than in 2002.

Leading Italian and foreign companies in the sector will be taking part, including Ferro, Colorobbia, Torrecid, Itaca-Esmalglass, Smalticeram, Assoprint, Johnson Matthey, Newton Serigrafica, Ceramco, Cover, Metco, Euroarce, Vidres, Bonet, Electron, Sicer, Vernis, Wendel, Imerys, WBB Minerals and others. Some 30 companies will be taking part for the first time.

In 2002, Kromatech accounted for 24% of Tecnargilla's exhibitors and 16% of the total exhibition space, while values of 25% and 20% respectively are expected this year.

Spain and Italy are regarded as the world largest producers in this field. Anffecc, the Spanish Ceramic Glaze Manufacturers' Association, reported that in 2003 the Spanish companies in this sector recorded a total turnover of €838 million. Exports accounted for 58% of sales.

Italy, with about 30 companies and groups, recorded a slight fall in turnover in this sector, to €563 million.
