In-Line Magnetic Trap

The latest addition to the range of in-line magnetic traps manufactured by Eriez Magnetics Europe Ltd (Bedwas, Caerphilly, Wales) has been designed to offer a low cost alternative for the removal of iron contamination from liquid product flows.

The Model P trap combines a lightweight, portable, easy to install design with what the company says is an exceptional performance in the separation of both coarse and fine iron contamination. The system has a unique configuration of three MEGASTRENGTH rare earth magnets designed for maximum pulling power and is housed in a sturdy FDA Styrene-Acrilonitrile body so that build-up of contamination is easily seen.

Maximum pressure is 8.6 bar and maximum temperature is 52°C.

The system design is said to reduce flow speed, increasing dwell time around the magnetic element which thus optimises ferrous separation.
