CeramTec Introduces New High Strength Component

CeramTec North America (a division of CeramTec AG in Germany) has reported on what it describes as a highlight in ceramics development; the successful marriage of elasticity and strength. The ultrafine microstructure of Rubalit(r) HSS is the basis for what is claimed to be outstanding substrate surface quality.

"A very high and consistent surface quality allows the scale of integration and power density that will in future be required as a result of component miniaturization," explained the company.

CeramTec added that with their remarkable thermal cycling resistance and excellent thermal conductivity, Rubalit HSS substrates are ideal for advanced process and applications.

"Rubalit(r) HSS is a substance that fires the imagination and opens up unexpected potentials in applications involving heavy mechanical loads combined with extreme demands in terms of thermal cycling resistance and surface quality," said a spokesman. "Combined with new high caliber technologies, this offers vast potentials for the future."
