Clay For Healthy Interiors

A new range of attractive natural finishes has been launched in Britain by Construction Resources. Tierrafino is a 100% natural clay finish for walls and ceilings which brings unique benefits to the occupants of living and working spaces.

Tierrafino helps to maintain a comfortable and healthy quality of air in a room by absorbing swings in humidity and temperature. The relaxing visual appeal of the natural colours is enhanced by the tactile appeal of the texture: the surface is warm to the touch in winter, cool in summer.

The six standard colours are Delphi White, Roman Ochre, Djenne Red, Iquitos Green, Gomera Grey and Nassau Orange: these can be mixed to produce a wide spectrum of shades. The colours come from a mix of different sands and clays, not from any added pigment.

Tierrafino provides a very robust, long-lasting finish. It requires no painting or further finishing. Being through-coloured, T'ierrafino is exceptionally easy to maintain: minor dents and scratches can be simply damped, rubbed smooth and left to dry. It is applied just like gypsum plaster, in a thin layer (2-3mm), on virtually any wall or ceiling surface.

Tierrafino is being used to create an exceptionally attractive environment in public and private buildings, ranging from hotels, restaurants, cafes and shops to offices, museums, churches and clinics, as well as houses and flats. The Construction Resources building in central London includes extensive areas showing the qualities of Tierrafino, including its use with radiant wall heating, also demonstrated on stand 3432 at Interbuild.
