Piezo Ceramic Actuators & Custom Subassemblies

Gaiotto, a member company of the Imola-based Sacmi Group, has once again reinforced its standing as the principal supplier of sanitaryware glazing lines in the Civita Castellana area of Italy. New Gaiotto-built fine fireclay and vitreous china glazing systems have been sold to Ceramica Flaminia, Ceramica Althea and Ceramica Ilca, all of which were already Gaiotto customers and are based in Civita Castellana, Viterbo.

The glazing lines, which include expansion of the existing plant at Ceramica Althea, will be installed by August 2006. A key feature of these systems is the inclusion of new GA2000 glazing robots, described as the most innovative glazing solution presently available to the ceramic industry. Suitable for the glazing of both fine fireclay and vitreous china, the GA2000 offers outstanding versatility. For example, on the GA2000 sold to Ceramica Flaminia, two separate spray guns for FFC pieces and a glaze flow control system have been fitted. This provides superb elasticity, allowing the user to exclude the engobe circuit for simultaneous use of the two guns in the case of vitreous china glazing.

Featuring cutting-edge devices, the GA2000 thus offers a winning combination of flexibility and – as it represents the very latest in the robotics field – great innovation, says the company. All of this meets the Civita ceramic companies’ need for high quality output while strengthening the mutually rewarding business relations between them and Gaiotto.
