Elections at Saint-Gobain AGM

The Ordinary and Extraordinary General Meeting of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain was held in Paris on 10 June 2004.

The General Meeting renewed the terms of office of Director of Jean-Louis Beffa, Isabelle Bouillot, Sylvia Jay and Jose Luis Leal Maldonado. It also elected Gianpaolo Caccini as Director to replace Eric d'Hautefeuille who died in January 2004. Mr Caccini was formerly Chief Operating Officer of Saint-Gobain.

The General Meeting also approved the payment of a net dividend of €1.15 per share (giving rise to a tax credit of up to €0.575 for eligible shareholders). The dividend will be paid entirely in cash as from 24 June 2004.

At its meeting following the AGM, the Board of Directors reappointed Jean-Louis Beffa as Chairman and CEO of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain.
