Software Enables Dynamic Materials Testing

The powerful combination of NEXYGEN(tm) MT materials test and data analysis software and Ondio(tm) application builder software allows universal testing machines from Lloyd Instruments Ltd (Fareham, Hants, England) to be used in dynamic materials testing applications. This means that samples under test can have other external parameters controlled or monitored as part of the test, with the results collected and presented in the required format by the software.

Applications are varied. Temperature is an important parameter and the software can either simply monitor temperature values from a device such as a thermocouple or take control of heating and/or cooling devices to allow tests to be carried out at controlled temperatures or through different temperature cycles. Other examples include monitoring parameters in onboard chips in credit cards as the cards are flexed; monitoring transmission of optical fibres during compression; and measuring short circuits in electrical wires during crush tests.

NEXYGEN MT features a vast library of international standard tests for many different applications and may be used to control the Lloyd Instruments 'Plus', EZ and LR Series universal testing machines, the Davenport(tm) MFL-10 Melt Flow Indexer and HDT/VicatPlus, and supports the comprehensive range of CHATILLON(r) digital force gauges.
