Soaring Western Market Exports for Dvarcioniu Keramika

The export sales of the Lithuanian company Dvarcioniu Keramika SC, the most advanced manufacturer of ceramic tiles in the Baltics, grew markedly in the Western markets during the first quarter of 2004. By comparison with the same period in 2003, the company's exports to these countries increased by 69%.

During May 2004, the collections of the latest glazed porcelain stoneware tiles and also modern ceramic tiles of extended format and design (20cm x 33.3cm) were exported to the trade partners in England and building organisations in Germany and Iceland.

"New trade contacts and sales in the West European countries are related not only with the Lithuanian accession to the European Economic Community," said Export Director Gintautas Balasevicius, " but also result from the long-term operation in those markets. These sales reflect that the modern-design production of Dvarcioniu Keramika SC that complies with the quality standards of the European Union is competitive and acceptable to the complicated German market prevailed by strong local manufacturers and harsh competition in the internal market with imported production from Italy and Poland.

"In future, we expect these contacts with business partners to grow into long-term trade relations."
