CoorsTek Acquires DEW Engineering & Development


CoorsTek Inc (Golden, CO, USA), the premier technical ceramics supplier and manufacturer of critical components for high technology markets, has acquired DEW Engineering & Development Ltd, a leading armour solutions provider of vehicle ballistic protection, specialty vehicles, vehicle refurbishing (‘re-life’) and repurposing (‘re-role’) services.

Incorporated in 1978, DEW Engineering is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and has operations in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada and Ogdensburg, New York, USA. Canadian facilities will continue to operate as DEW Engineering and provide vehicle armour systems outside of the USA. The Ogdensburg, New York facility will become part of CoorsTek and serve as the armour integrator for a newly formed company serving customers in the USA only, called CoorsTek Armor Solutions, USA. Existing domestic and international armour integration customers will continue to purchase base ceramic armour components from several CoorsTek facilities.
