CoorsTek Receives Supplier Award

CoorsTek Inc (Grand Junction, CO, USA) - the largest technical ceramics manufacturer in North America and manufacturer of critical components and integrated assemblies for high technology markets - has received the Gold Supplier Award from global automotive components supplier, Wabash Technologies.

The Gold Supplier Award is the highest achievable Wabash supplier award and is contingent upon 100% on-time delivery, zero ppm defect levels and world-class technical and customer support. Wabash Technologies initiated the award programme in 2000 to enhance its quality programmes and recognises superior suppliers. Out of the company's 1,207 regular suppliers, CoorsTek is one of only two to receive the Gold Award this year and the only supplier ever to receive it in consecutive years.

"CoorsTek is the Chicago Bulls of suppliers - in the Michael Jordan years," commented Steve Miller, Vice President, Global Supply Chain Management for Wabash Technologies as he presented the award at its annual supplier conference in Mexicali, Mexico. "CoorsTek is a model organization for our other suppliers to emulate."

In addition to the praise, CoorsTek was chosen as Wabash's sole supplier for ceramic substrates and awarded a four-year supply contract.

"We are proud to be recognized by Wabash as a valued business partner," said Rob Lucernoni, Director of Sales. "This award further validates the investment CoorsTek has made in quality, organization, and manufacturing refinements." This latter is the CoorsTek OpX(sm) programme which combines six sigma, lean manufacturing and other methodologies to optimise operations.
