Ceramics & Interior Architecture Congress

On 14 October 2005, under the flag of 'Ceramics Foundation Den Bosch', the .ekwc ('s-Hertogenbosch, Holland) will be holding its third ceramics congress. Following on from the 'Ceramics and Architecture' congress held in 2004, this year's congress will be on the theme of 'Ceramics and Interior Architecture'.

The idea is to let people see and hear how architects deal with the interiors they create in their buildings, or which demands they make if they have to leave the design to others, which is generally the case. Conversely, those who take on the responsibility of designing interiors, whether they are interior architects, designers or visual artists, also have their own ideas, not only about the interior, but often about the exterior too. This will make discipline crossovers an interesting part of the agenda.

In this context, it is interesting to get an idea of where opportunities lie for ceramics and how these can be exploited. This means not only in building materials, but also interest in items that form part of the interior such as sanitaryware, wall and floor coverings, heating and cooling elements, lighting, furniture, crockery and decorative pottery etc. Information about the speakers at the congress will be announced shortly.
