New Book on CMCs

American Technical Publishers has announced the publication of a new title - High Temperature Ceramic Matrix Composites - edited by W Krenkel, R Naslain and H Schneider.

ATP says that the extreme high temperature stability and damage tolerance of materials and components required for space, terrestrial, energetic and many other applications can only be achieved by ceramic materials.

The materials with the highest potential for high temperature applications are fibre reinforced ceramic matrix composites (CMCs). The international conference HT-CMC 4 in Munich, Germany will continue the tradition of previous meetings held in Bourdeaux (1993), Santa Barbara (1995) and Osaka (1998). ATP says that this conference series has been recognised as the central meeting event in high temperature CMC science and technology and demonstrates the great interest in research and development on reinforced ceramics.

These proceedings, adds ATP, will be a valuable reference for every materials scientist or engineer involved in this field of high tech materials development.

The book (ISBN: 3-527-30320-0) contains 500 pages and is priced at £143 or €250.25.
