Aluminium China 2008 and Extraordinary South China Market

The organisers say that firmly in the driving seat as Asia’s No.1 aluminium industry event, ALUMINIUM CHINA 2008 came to a successful close in Guangzhou on 30 May welcoming a total of 6,744 professional visitors. Set in the heart of the major aluminium processing and application centre in China, the fourth staging of this well known event established a firm foothold in the highly important South China market with this first appearance in the superb China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex.

Out of the total of 265 exhibiting companies from 24 nations, more than 70 top companies arrived from the Guangdong province featuring prominent brands like Asia Aluminium, Kamkiu, Xingfa, Guangya, Xingya, Fenglu, Golden Aluminium, Haomei etc. Chinalco heading up a long list of leading companies from around China joined the show as a major sponsor this year with a fully staffed 270 sq m stand. On the international front, the event managed to attract over 100 of the world’s best known companies from 24 nations to join in the exploration of new market opportunities with such industry leaders as Alcoa, Aleris, Dubal, Novelis, Furukawa-Sky, Siemens VAI, Wagstaff, Fata Hunter, Granco Clark etc.

Complementing the exhibition this year were a series of open as well as invitation-only factory visits only made possible by the show’s ideal location. Dozens of major plants and facilities are within three hours’ drive from the venue making day trips possible for the first time. On top of factory tours, the show attracted scores of visiting delegations from the area where aluminium professionals concentrate; all in all more than 420 aluminium decision makers and engineers made good use of the free pick-up service offered to the local visitor groups for the first time.

As a long term supporter of the event, China Non Ferrous Metal Industry Association along with China’s leading aluminium information and consultancy provider Antaike launched a newly enhanced conference, ‘China Aluminum Fabrication Forum’, as part of the ALUMINIUM CHINA exhibition and conference mix. This leading conference was supported by the IAA, AA, JAA, EAFA and featured topics covering the latest policies on aluminium fabrication in China, Chinalco’s Strategy on M&A in the fabrication sector as well rolling mill overview and much more.

According to the organisers, ALUMINIUM CHINA 2008 represented an important step in the brand’s strategic expansion with this latest success in the Pearl River delta region. Firmly locked on the goal to fully serve and dominate the aluminium exhibition segment in the world’s largest and fastest growing aluminium market, ALUMINIUM CHINA will return to Shanghai and the SNIEC next year for what it says will be the world’s largest aluminium gathering in 2009. The aluminium community can expect to look forward to a record 350 exhibitors from over 30 countries and 10,000 professional visitors from over 90 nations worldwide all under one roof, asserted the organisers. Close to 40% of the available stands for ALUMINIUM CHINA 2009 were sold on-site with additional stand bookings besides gaining momentum after the show closed.

ALUMINIUM CHINA 2009 takes place in the Shanghai New International Expo Center from 30 June to 2 July in Shanghai.
