Chinese Ceramists to Work at European Centre

In order to give non-western artists the chance to work at the European Ceramic Work Centre (ekwc) in 's-Hertogenbosch in Holland, ekwc has initiated country projects. Every year, the selection of the annual public application shows that visual artists and designers from non-western countries do not meet the standards of the committee.

By reserving a few studios each year, ekwc enables artists to participate in the programme as a group. This year, four Chinese ceramists have been invited to work and stay in the Dutch centre.

Under the supervision of former participant Adriaan Rees, Shixiong Wu, Haichen Wang, Xia Dewu and Wan Li-ya have the opportunity to work with ceramics at the centre. They will have a final presentation at the centre on 13 July. The ekwc is also preparing an exhibition and a publication.

Next year, a group of visual artists from Senegal in West Africa will participate in this programme.
