Italian Exhibitors Express Satisfaction at Ceramics China

Italian exhibitors at Ceramics China 2007 in Guangzhou (Guangdong, China) – which took place between 30 May and 2 June and which is generally regarded as the ceramic industry's most important Asian fair dedicated to technology and raw materials – expressed their satisfaction at this year's event.

Organized by ACIMAC (the Association of Italian Manufacturers of Machinery and Equipment for Ceramics) in collaboration with Italy's Institute for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (ICE), the Italian Pavilion was reportedly one of the fair's main attractions, with a high number of visitors from China and the whole of South-East Asia.

ACIMAC said that it had been an ideal opportunity to promote high-quality Italian technology offering efficiency, reliability, reduced energy consumption, aftersales back-up, high product quality and environmentally friendly features. The 1,300 square metres of exhibition space in the Italian Pavilion was booked to host 14 top companies: Air Power, Assoprint, BMR, CMF Technology, Colorobbia - Industrie Bitossi, Gabtec, ICF & Welko, NBP, Sacmi, Simec, Siti – B&T Group, System, Tecno Italia and TSC.

During the symposium on 'Resource, Environment Protection, Creativity and Efficiency' ACIMAC Director Paolo Gambuli spoke about the Asian industrial goods market and the commercial and manufacturing presence of Italian firms in China. He also touched on intellectual rights: “To operate in this market on a level playing field, we ask to be allowed to work under the same rules as local operators. We need a thorough debate that doesn't cut any corners,” declared Gambuli. “A proper discussion on product originality and innovation.”

On the environment, the ACIMAC Director spoke of positive developments since the 1970s encouraging public institutions, in consultation with the relevant associations, to adopt progressively tougher European, national and regional legislation regarding emissions and the reuse of raw materials. He added that China should also be involved in this process.

On a similar theme, on 28 June 2007 in Milan's Palazzo delle Stelline, Federmacchine (the Italian industrial federation covering the machinery
sector) and the ICE foreign trade institute are holding an interesting conference on 'Italian machine engineering in China: means and opportunities ', offering valuable advice and support to firms operating abroad.
