Options for CAMSIZER

The patented measuring set-up of the CAMSIZER(r) from Retsch Technology GmbH (Haan, Germany) - two digital cameras as an adaptive measuring unit - improves and optimises particle analysis by digital image processing. Thus it is possible to measure a wide range of particles from 30 microns to 30mm extremely accurately, without having to switch measuring range or make adjustments. The sample is fed in from the feed channel so that all particles fall through the measurement field.

The new LongLife light source for the CAMSIZER ensures an extremely long working life of the illumination unit, explained Retsch. After each measurement, the intensity is reduced and the light source switched to the standby mode. When a new measurement starts, the light is automatically activated.

An optional automatic height adjustment of the filling hopper guarantees correct feeding of the sample and eliminates manual working steps. Thus, the CAMSIZER provides measuring results with excellent repeatability and reproducibility, claims the company. The feature is extremely useful for the use of the CAMSIZER together with AutoSampler for automatic sample feeding as well as for the CAMSIZER lab version when materials with different size distributions have to be measured.

Meanwhile, the advanced CAMSIZER software now allows for an even easier and more reliable adjustment of the measurement results to those of the sieve analysis. This facilitates the switch to the quicker and more meaningful results of the CAMSIZER without having to change the product specifications based on the sieve analysis.
