Ceramic Industry Forum Sponsors Award at New Designers

One of the main awards to be judged at this year's New Designers exhibition in July in London will be the New Designers Ceramic Industry Forum award for Ceramic Design with a prize of £1,000 to be presented to a student that demonstrates an innovative and creative use of ceramic materials to create a product that has the clear potential to be taken to market

The Ceramic Industry Forum (CIF) said it was proud to be part of the 2006 New Designers Awards to encourage and reward the very best design thinking applied to ceramics. The CIF is a government-funded organisation, working with ceramic companies from all over the UK to promote competitive advantage through effective design.

CIF said that all designs using ceramic as the principal material would be considered by their panel of judges. The panel is:

Gavin Pryke – Design Advisor, Ceramic Industry Forum
Simon Stevens – Sainsbury’s Homeware Head of Design
Dan Goodall – Design Director at Dudson Ltd.
