Almatis Appoints Possehl as Representative
Almatis (formerly Alcoa World Chemicals) has appointed Possehl Inc as representative and distributor of its refractory, ceramic, polishing and specialty hydrate products in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Central America and Mexico. The products represented in this partnership are the Almatis portfolio of tabular alumina, calcined alumina, calcium aluminate cement, spinel, white hydrated alumina and fine precipitated aluminium hydroxide.
Possehl has represented Almatis products in Mexico for the past two years and this expansion of representation territory compliments the success of Possehl's sales organisation. Almatis training and application support will back the extensive local technical support of Possehl.
Almatis also announced that it had expanded ground reactives batch mill capacity at its Bauxite, AR, USA manufacturing plant. The mill has added capacity for a number of alumina products; these products are largely used for speciality ceramic products and as refractory matrix improvers.
