Allrounder 170 U with PIM Equipment Package

From 19-23 June 2005, Arburg GmbH & Co KG (Lossburg, Germany) will present powder injection moulding of a high-precision metal part at the Pm2Tec in Montreal, Canada. The application will show the efficiency of the Allrounder 170 U with special PIM equipment as well as the potential of the PIM process.

Arburg will present the Allrounder 170 U 180-30 which belongs to the smallest machines in the company's range and is used in the field of micro-injection moulding. The exhibit has an internal distance of 170mm between tie bars, a clamping force of 180kN and works with a 30 injection unit which has been designed for the smallest moulded part weights and an optimum dwell-time range. It is possible to inject minimal shot weights of a few hundredths of a gram.

The Allrounder 170 U for the processing of powder materials differs from an Allrounder for plastics injection moulding due to its highly wear resistant cylinder module, the screw geometry (which is specially adapted to powder injection moulding) and the position regulated screw.

This ensures a high level of precision and repeatability as the injection process can be speeded up and slowed down quickly.
