Wienerberger Buys Up Previously Closed Brickworks
Wienerberger Ziegelindustrie GmbH, the German wing of Vienna based Wienerberger AG - leading European owned brickmaking concern - has just announced that it has purchased the entire technical equipment of the closed Taucha (Germany) brick plant from BDS Baukeramik AG & Co KG. Taucha is located close to Leipzig in the east of the country.
These virtually new brick machines were purchased for installation in new or renovated plants in the growth markets of Eastern Europe. Wienerberger will also lease warehouse space at the Taucha site for brick storage over the mid-term.
"Wienerberger has thereby taken a further step in its strategy toward a latest reorganisation of the German brick market," said a spokesman.
