TSI Confirms that ‘Coverings’ will change venue
Despite exhibitors’ requests for a record 412,000 net square feet of exhibition space for ‘Coverings 2001’ (The International Tile and Stone Exposition), says organiser TSI Inc, the board of governors listened closely to the sentiments of the vast majority of participants.
The request was clear. Despite initial surveys, Orlando’s only available dates turned out to be just too late in the year to hold Coverings. While April or even earlier was preferred, any improvement was considered preferable to a June time-frame.
With less than 10 venues in America which can physically accommodate the needs of Coverings and even fewer capable of providing the working conditions needed, the challenge was enormous, says TSI. When New Orleans offered its state-of-the-art Morial Convention Center for May, the board of governors put the opportunity to the vote.
Ultimately, the decision was made to hold Coverings 2001 in New Orleans from 20-23 May 2001. Exhibitors etc will receive additional information in the near future.
