Technology Review forecasts growth for Fine, Ultrafine & Nanopowder market


According to a soon to be released review from Business Communications Co Inc (Norwalk, CT, USA) - entitled 'RDFP99 Fine Particle Industry Review' - the overall USA market for nanostructured particles and coatings reached an estimated US$92 million in 1999 and is predicted to reach US$155 million by 2001. Ceramic, metallic, semiconducting and diamond nanostructured materials produced in commercial-scale quantities for industrial usage in products and prototypes were included in the tabulation. Nanostructured particles, manufactured in the form of dry powders and liquid dispersions, dominate the market, accounting for US$89 million or 96.7% of the total.
