Minerals Technologies Announces Price Increases for Talc Products
Minerals Technologies Inc (New York, USA) announced on 7 July 2008 that its wholly owned subsidiary Barretts Minerals Inc had decided to increase prices for Barretts, Montana, talc by between 8% to 10% depending on product. This increase will be effective 1 August 2008, or as permitted by contract.
The company stated that the price adjustments for talc products were necessary due to continuous cost increases in energy and fuel necessary to operate the Barretts, Montana, facility that mines, processes, packages and transports the talc.
