CoorsTek Plans Additional Facility in South Korea

CoorsTek (Golden, CO, USA) has formally announced its intention to build an additional technical ceramics manufacturing facility in South Korea, expanding its already extensive presence.

Originally established in 1999, the company's current Korean facility has seen significant increases in demand for high purity and other specialty ceramics – primarily for the semiconductor manufacturing and flat-panel display industries.

CoorsTek recently signed an agreement with the South Korean government to make a multi-million dollar investment in a new technical ceramics manufacturing facility. The new site is more than three times larger than the current location in Kyungbook to allow for continued growth in the sector.

“We're significantly expanding our presence and capability in the Asia-Pacific region in an ongoing effort to support our worldwide customer base,” stated Mark Petty, Executive Vice President for CoorsTek overseeing the expansion. “We're designing every detail of the new facility to ensure superior customer support, optimal manufacturing efficiencies, and rapid-response capabilities.”
