Riedhammer Becomes Part of Sacmi Group

Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) has upper its 30% stake in Riedhammer (Nuremberg, Germany) to 90%. Riedhammer, with over 6,000 plants installed all over the world, has been producing kilns for the ceramic industry since 1924. The historic German brand specialises in the firing of sanitaryware and tableware, but also designs kilns for other products such as technical ceramics, carbon products and recycled items.

This new ownership move has generated a business plan that aims to improve Riedhammer's products and services even further. Reorganisation - already well underway - is steadily giving the German company greater flexibility, dynamism and competitiveness to meet the challenges of the ever more complex world kiln market, said Sacmi.

A key feature of the plan is close collaboration with Sacmi Forni, the Sacmi Group company that designs and constructs kilns for the ceramic industry. All this is aimed at providing advantages for the customer in terms of design quality, technological innovation and service plus a wider product range and incorporation of tailor-made solutions to suit customers' specific needs.

Sacmi, characterised by steady growth, already has a strong foothold in Germany via its other plant engineering companies. It announced that new Riedhammer board of directors had reconfirmed Peter Riedhammer as company chairman.
