Queen's Award for Delcam

Delcam (Birmingham, England) has been presented with The Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category in recognition of the continuing innovation in its ArtCAM software, well known in ceramic and allied applications, as well being widely used in jewellery design and manufacture. Delcam said the Queen's Awards were the UK's most coveted commercial awards, with only a small percentage of those who enter each year measuring up to the demanding standards required to win an award.

ArtCAM is used in the manufacture of many different products incorporating intricate decoration, including ceramic tableware, jewellery, coins, badges, signs, packaging, footwear etc.

It enables people with creative flair to increase their productivity and raise quality by using computerised manufacturing techniques alongside their traditional skills.

Sales at Delcam in 2002 were 18.9 million, up 4% on the previous best annual sales of 18.2 million achieved in 2001. Pre-tax profit rose to 1.07 million, an increase of 25%, even after further increases in the level of investment in product development, sales and marketing.

Delcam's software is now used by more than 8,000 organisations in over 75 countries.
