Innovative Purchasing Website Launched by British Ceramic Tile

British Ceramic Tile (BCT Ltd, Newton Abbot, Devon) says it is changing the way consumers use the internet, launching a new and interactive website www.mylocaltileshop.com (MLTS). The new site is revolutionising tile purchasing by incorporating the 'Virtual Tiler,' a unique programme designed to allow consumers to create and visualise their own personal wall and floor tile configurations from the comfort of their own home. The site also includes detailed product descriptions and an extensive search database allowing the consumer to find the perfect tiles to suit their requirements.

The site gives consumers the freedom to visualise their selected tiles together using the 'Virtual Tiler'. This programme, bespoke to the MLTS website, is designed to allow the consumer to create and visualise their own personal wall and floor tile configurations before they buy. Users can save, e-mail and print their personal designs to show their tiler, friends or local supplier.

For extra convenience the design of the site was constructed to help consumers find the tiles they are looking for via popular web-based search engines. This means that each individual product description can easily be accessed or 'spidered' by Google and other major search engines.

MyLocalTileShop.com also offers simple access to retailer information with the 'find my local tile shop' option. Nationwide retailer information is available, allowing users to find their nearest outlet by entering their postcode to locate their closest store. Consumers can then contact the retailers directly by e-mail via the website.
