Extended Range of SLS Powders Offered

ARRK Product Development Group (Gloucester, England) has purchased two further DTM Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) Machines. Customers using rapid prototyping will be able to physically see parts within days, these being available for functional testing as well as to ensure form and fit.

Customers using ARRK's SLS service will now have access to a much wider range of materials, offering different qualities. The three materials currently being offered include Glass Filled Nylon, DuraForm Polyamide and more recently CastForm PS.

The Glass Filled powder produces parts which need to be robust and durable, whereas the DuraForm powder offers parts with a certain amount of flexibility. The new CastForm PS material builds prototype parts with polystyrene type characteristics and is predominantly used as a lost wax process by foundries for burning out during casting.
