Sacmi Opens New Liaison Office in North Korea
On 20 June 2006 Sacmi Pyong Yang - the first sales branch to be opened by an Italian company in North Korea - became operative.
Sacmi Pyong Yang is a representative office of Sacmi Shanghai; it carries out sales promotion activities and provides after-sales support (spare parts and technical assistance), logistics (shipment, deliveries) plus trading and import/export services.
Sacmi first established business contacts in this country in 2002 when it supplied a complete tile production plant; successfully started up and tested in 2003, it is now fully operational. Since then, says Sacmi, it has built up an outstanding corporate image and reputation in both economic and political circles: the setting up of this company is thus an important step in the group’s expansion plan within North Korea and the Far East in general.
