Levitiles Installs New Lapping Machine For Very Large Formats

Levitiles SpA (Castellarano, RE, Italy) has put into operation a new lapping and grinding machine, which is able to finish tile sizes from the 30cm x 30cm standards right up to the very large 120cm x 120cm formats. This is a significant enlargement of the Levitiles plant structure, which already has 16 complete working lines, 4 ‘Hi-Coat’ Coating System lines and a complete department for the realisation of steps and L elements, starting from finished tiles.

This new lapping machine, which smoothes and laps, is paired to a squaring machine with seven spindles, with dryer and controls for dimension and levelness attached. During the process, it is possible to also insert the Hi-Coat Coating System plant, which actively protects the tiles from the spotting agents, thanks to the combined action of nanotechnology and a patented application system.

Hi-Coat characterises all the Levitiles production: already two smoothing and eight lapping lines have been equipped for the application of this nano-structured finishing.

The Levitiles plant specialises in the processes of polishing, lapping, cutting and grinding ceramic tiles.

Levitiles claims to be the largest commission production plant in the world and covers 40% of the Italian market alone. The company serves over 40 Italian ceramic producers with about 9 million square metres of material processed every year. Established in 1988, it has been a part of the Ancora Group since 1993.
